About the Journal

Maritime in Community Service and Empowerment (MiCSE)Electrical Focus is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes research combining electrical engineering, maritime studies, and community service. The journal features articles, projects, and initiatives that use electrical engineering to support maritime communities, improve quality of life, and empower underserved populations.

MiCSE is published twice a year, in April and November.

MiCSE accepts manuscripts written in English. All submissions are reviewed by the editors and then go through a double-blind peer review by at least two experts. The journal is committed to maintaining high academic standards and aims to be indexed in Scopus and Web of Science within the next year.

Scope of the Journal

We welcome contributions in the following areas:

  1. Marine Electrical Infrastructure – Maritime electrical systems, port electrification, and offshore energy.

  2. Renewable Energy Integration – Solar, wind, and tidal energy for marine use.

  3. Community Empowerment – Electrical innovations for coastal and island communities.

  4. Safety and Sustainability – Safe and eco-friendly electrical practices in maritime settings.

  5. Interdisciplinary Collaboration – Joint solutions for maritime challenges.

  6. Equity and Inclusion – Access to energy for vulnerable and underserved groups.
