Author Guidelines

Submission

Author is required to submit their manuscript online after registering as an author on the website (https://inergyc.ppns.ac.id/journal/index.php/micse/about/submissions). For each submitted article, the author must adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the Maritime in Community Service and Empowerment(MICSE) Style Guide (which can be obtained from the Style Guide Page). Author should see MiCSE Publication Ethics and Author Responsibilities.

There are three types of manuscripts eligible for publication: Original Research Articles, Short Communications, and Review Articles. When submitting the manuscript through the online submission interface, the following documents should be included as Supplementary Files:

  1. Cover Letter [you can download a cover letter template here], summarizing the key findings of the paper and its significance.
  2. Statement of Originality [you can download a statement of originality template here].

A. General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of the MiCSE must be:
  1. Written in English.
  2. The length of the submitted paper is at least 9 pages.
  3. Use of a tool such as Ithenticate, Mendeley, EndNote or Grammarly for reference management.
  4. The citation style is IEEE.
  5. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the ERLINA Template.
  6. Submitted manuscripts first will be screened for plagiarism prior to the initial review process and peer assessment with a maximum word score of 15% (Editor will do similarity check using Turnitin).
  7. The manuscript will be screened again, the manuscript report is declared ACCEPTED and has gone through the layout edit process with a maximum word information score of 20%.

C. Submission Preparation Checklist

After registering as an author on the website (http...), the author must submit their manuscript online. The author must follow the terms and conditions indicated in the Maritime in Community Service and Empowerment (MICSE) Style Guide (which may be acquired from the Style Guide Page) for each submitted paper.

D. Reviewing of Manuscripts

Each submitted paper is subjected to an unbiased appraisal by at least two peer reviewers. Their judgments and recommendations are used to determine whether a work should be published, revised, or rejected. If two or more reviewers deem an article inappropriate for publication in this journal, authors will be notified within three months of submission with a detailed explanation.

E. Revision of Manuscript

Authors are urged to resubmit articles that require change to the editor as soon as possible. These updated manuscripts should be sent to the editorial office through the Online Submission Interface. Please keep in mind, however, that updated papers submitted more than three months following the first call for changes will be classified as new submissions.

F. Publication and Authorship Ethics

  • Authors must include a full list of references mentioned within their work. • Authors must identify any financial assistance received for the study stated in their submission.
  • Plagiarism and false data in any article are not tolerated by MiCSE. This is strictly enforced via two methods: reviewer evaluation and the usage of plagiarism detection software (such as iThenticate). Before being given to reviewers, all submissions are thoroughly reviewed.
